Test Results

This week we got our tests back. I was very pleased with my results, and found that despite my small amount of sleep the day of the test, my tough studying paid off. Next time I plan to sleep more and study the same amount to repeat my personal success.

Logic and the Mind

While preparing for today's test, I found that every slide I looked over made perfect sense to me. Maybe it's because I've been studying for so long, but it may also be due to flawed logic. As every student can verify, there are some days, weeks even, when material is understood in class, yet when it comes time to do an assignment or take a test, the information just cannot be recalled. Logic through a computer, unless in the case of hardware failure, is sound and consistent; whereas human logic is influenced by many outside factors. In testing situations or any otherwise stressful period, the logical drive of the human mind may skip a step here or there, resulting in an illogical conclusion. I have just proven my own point by losing sight of what I meant to say in this SLOG entry and will end it on this high note.

Makes reasoning easier?

Even though this class is mainly about math, I've been finding myself thinking about everyday situations and actions in terms of implications and other logic learned in this class. It has already made doing work for MAT137 easier, and I expect it will help even more later on when it starts to get really complicated. It also helps me think about the concepts in my history class easier, since to understand a culture the logic behind it must first be understood.
